Lazy Daisy Cake

Serves 9" x 9" pan

Ingredients

  • 1  cup cake flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 egg
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1  tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ cup hot milk

Directions

  1. Sift flour, measure

    1. Add baking powder and salt and sift 3 times

    2. Beat eggs till thick and nearly white.

    3. Add sugar gradually, beating constantly.

    4. Add vanilla.

    5. Fold flour into egg mixture.

    6. Heat milk and butter, add to cake mixture, and mix quickly.

    7. Bake in greased pan.

    8. Spread with broiled icing while still hot and brown in oven.
