Ginger Snaps

Serves about 2 dozen

Ingredients

  • ¾  cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. ginger

Directions

  1. Cream shortening and sugar.

    1. Beat in egg and add molasses and dry ingredients.

    2. Roll into small balls.

    3. Roll balls in sugar and place on cookie sheet

    4. Bake @ 375° for 9 min. or 350° for 13 min. (chewier)
