Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 c. butter, softened (use ½ butter, ½ shortening)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tbsp instant coffee
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 c. chocolate chips

1 ½ c. icing sugar

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2-3 tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

  1. Cream butter and sugar.

  2. Add rest of ingredients, except chocolate chips. Dough will be crumbly.

  3. Stir in choc chips.

  4. Press into greased 11x7”.

Bake @ 350° for 15-20 minutes (or until light golden brown).

Spread glaze over warm bars.
